This list is a collection of 60 of the best products we’ve come to love and some we’ve come to need after the mess that was 2020. There are so many things we take for granted now that the world is a little more back to normal, a little more precedented, but we can’t ever forget the products that got us through some of the toughest times in history.
This Drone Gave Us a View of the Outside
There was a brief time when the only way I could experience the rest of the world was by using this drone. Sure, I was free to spend my time in my yard, but I couldn’t see people or experience the world. That’s why I bought this drone. And I’ve kept it and kept on loving it because there are so many endless possibilities for what you can do and the views you can see with this super cool, flying gadget.
Who Doesn't Want a Robot Vacuum and Mop?
I might have had all the time in the world during the pandemic, but what I couldn’t be bothered with was cleaning my floors. It was just too much work, and the work was the no-fun kind! Fortunately, I found this awesome robot vacuum and mop combo that gave me the ability to stay right on the sofa where I wanted to be while it did all the hard work for me.
Get a Clearer Vision
The pandemic was certainly a time of way too much TV, but all of that TV made me realize just how low-quality our current TV was. We decided we had to upgrade to get a better, more crystal-clear view and we’ve been loving this excellent, UHD 4K, 43″ TV since then!
I Can't Be Without My Coffee
Even during the pandemic (maybe, especially during the pandemic?) I needed my morning coffee to feel like a real, functional adult. This Keurig single-serve coffee maker was basically my best friend while we were on lockdown. Mostly because it served me my java, but also because it was just me and my husband and I started making friends with furniture and appliances.
This Air Fryer Does the Most
This isn’t just an air fryer, it’s also a dehydrator, a roaster, and more! It’s a 6-in-1 item you want in your kitchen. And I can personally attest to the fact that it can make a huge batch of chicken fingers and French fries super easily and can make tasty, air fried cookies immediately after. It’s especially great for big families!
My Nephew Loved This Scooter
I wish this scooter had been one I used, but, unfortunately, I’m just a little too grown up to fit on it. But! My nephew loved this awesome scooter and he had a blast riding this all around the outdoor space at my sister’s house. It’s the perfect size for little kids, and it can even grow with them so you can keep it for years.
No Germs In This House
Germs were a real fear throughout the pandemic and I became obsessive about wiping things down and cleaning. Nothing was as beneficial or high-quality as this deep-cleaning, Lysol disinfectant spray. It killed so many germs and left a lovely, lemony scent for me to enjoy.
Dawn Dish Soap Is Tough on Grease AND Germs
I can’t tell you how many dishes I had to scrub during the pandemic because my dishwasher went out, but we didn’t want a stranger in our house fixing it. So, we did a lot of hand-washing! And the only dish soap I trusted was the Dawn soap that’s tough on grease, grime, and germs! Everything you could need from a dish soap.
This Washing Machine Cleaner Is a Must-Have
When I tell you I cleaned everything in my house, I mean everything. I even cleaned the interior of my washing machine — something I only recently found out I’m supposed to do regularly. These washing machine cleaning pods do a terrific job of getting everything clean and shiny all over inside so your clothes are as clean as possible.
This Bath Soap Offered the Ultimate Relaxation
I took a lot of relaxing baths while I was locked inside during 2020. Why not when you’ve got so much free time on your hands? This Dr. Teal’s foaming bath soap was the ultimate relaxation aide that left me loose and relaxed and ready for bed. Or another Netflix binge session.
Cut Out the Noise With These Loop Earplugs
I didn’t use these Loop earplugs during the pandemic itself, but I did use them afterwards when I was trying to reacclimatize to the real world. They come in tons of awesome colors and they’re a great way to cut out the extra background noise so you can be out and about without feeling aurally overwhelmed.
Soothe Your Migraines Easily With This Mask
I can’t tell you how many more migraines I had during the pandemic than usual. It was probably all the stress. This awesome mask that pulls right over your head helps to soothe and calm the migraines and headaches so you can get back to your usual self a whole lot quicker.
This Set of Candles Are the Best
We spent way too much money on candles during the pandemic. We were stuck in the house with six animals and ourselves and it got a little stale in there sometimes. But open windows and lovely scented candles like these made our space far more bearable and, dare I say it, enjoyable to be in.
This Diffuser Is So Peaceful
I made every effort I could during our time to make my space as beautiful and peaceful as possible. This oil diffuser was a crucial part of that because it created just the sort of relaxing space I wanted to create by diffusing gorgeous essential oil scents and offering a bit of soft lighting at the same time.
Get the Cleanest Clothes Possible With Tide Pods
Tide Pods do an unparalleled job of cleaning my clothes! It gets into the stains and really pulls them out, leaving just the beautiful scents in their place. We spent quite a bit of time trying to garden, and then we tried running, and then we tried painting, so saying we had a little dirty laundry is an understatement. These Tide Pods? They handled even our biggest dirty hampers.
A No-Touch Thermometer
Do you remember how terrified we all were of touching… Pretty much anything? I do! And I was so worried about the transfer of germs that I bought us this awesome, easy-to-use, no-touch thermometer that granted us the ability to check temps without even a little touch. No need to worry about germs with this gadget!
Your Favorite Dryer Sheets
Gain dryer sheets are a terrific way to get your clothes as beautifully scented as possible. I like to toss three or four in with every load for the maximum scent boost, but it’s definitely a personal preference, and you can’t go wrong with any amount of these aromatic sheets.
My Niece Is Obsessed With Her Fire Tablet
My brother really didn’t want to allow screen time, but he wound up caving when the pandemic hit. This Fire Tablet was his solution to the screen time issue, and my niece is obsessed with it. And, in my opinion, it’s actually made her smarter because she has to figure out how to use it and she loves watching all sorts of interesting, educational videos.
Everyone's Favorite Italian
And, of course, I’m talking about Mario. He’s America’s (and maybe even the world’s) favorite Italian. He’s just so fun and jumpy! This video game got us through the roughest parts of 2020 and brought us just a little joy in some of the hardest times we’d experienced before. And we could all use a little more joy!
This Is the Ultimate Gaming Headset
If you game regularly, you know it’s crucial to have the best gaming headset possible. This headset is one of my favorites because it delivers some of the clearest, best sound ever and really allows me to feel like I’m a part of the game. Plus, they look pretty dang cool, too.
Keep an Eye on Who's Coming and Going
During the pandemic, our neighborhood experienced a rash of package thefts, so we relied heavily on our Ring alarm to ensure we grabbed our packages the second they were set down. No stolen packages once you got that bad boy! It was one of the best investments of 2020.
This Managed Our Pet Stink
Angry Orange is one of the things I rely on the most to keep my pet’s messes from lingering after they’ve been cleaned. This solution does an amazing job of not only cleaning the mess but replacing the smell with one I actually want to smell. Plus, it helps reduce potential staining!
Breathe the Cleanest Air Possible
Having clean air was a pretty important factor throughout 2020, especially if you had to have someone over to fix or repair something. Fortunately, we didn’t, but there were a few times we had to go to the doctor, so we grabbed this air purifier to help ensure any sick we brought home wouldn’t spread. And we still love using it to this day!
We Replaced Our Paper Towels With These Cloths
My husband experienced a bit of a perspective shift in 2020 (didn’t we all), and he wanted us to focus more closely on our waste. That’s why we switched from disposable paper towels to these reusable Swedish dishcloths that do the same work but can be used more than once and are biodegradable when they’ve outlived their shelf life.
My Sister Is Obsessed With This Stain-Fighting Spray
Stains don’t stand a chance against this awesome stain-fighting spray! Which is why my sister ordered it during the pandemic. She took my nephew outside pretty much all day, every day, which led to lots of stained clothes. But those stains didn’t stick around once she sprayed them down with this solution!
Keep Your Phone Secure No Matter Where the Trail Leads
My dad got really into cycling in 2020. He just liked being able to get out and away from my mom and siblings, I think, but maybe he was actually excited about all that work. Either way, he swears by this durable, hardcore phone holder that attaches firmly to his bike handles and keeps his phone secure throughout his rides.
Keep It Frothy, My Friends
Obviously, Starbucks was out of the question during lockdowns. And that meant we had to work pretty hard to recreate our favorite drinks at home. This milk frother was super integral in doing that, and it helped to create a foamy, creamy milk that tasted almost like it was from our favorite coffee shop.
Matcha For What Ails You
We, like so many others, went through a phase focused entirely on immune-boosting. The last thing we wanted was to get any form of sick, let alone get COVID (we all remember how full the doctor’s offices were). Matcha was one of the ways my husband most enjoyed getting his extra vitamins and minerals that helped keep his immune system in fighting order, and this was his favorite matcha he tried — and he tried a lot.
Pantry Organization Was a Process
When you have nothing else to do, you start to really look for things to do, and one of the things we stumbled on was pantry organization. We used all that free time we had to move our dry goods into these great, airtight containers that helped us get a cleaner and clearer pantry that we love walking into now.
This Great Surge Protector Is a Must
This surge protector is just one of those things my husband found a great deal on and snapped up, but it turned out to be a perfect purchase! It gives us so much more room to plug in, pretty much anywhere, and it even has a USBC port so you can charge your newer devices without a block.
Ebooks Travel Faster Than Paperbacks
I read. A lot. But once I read through the pile I had by my bedside, I needed to buy more. And believe it or not, it was a little challenging to get packages in a timely manner during the pandemic. That’s why I invested in this awesome Kindle — because ebooks can travel much faster than paperbacks. No mail necessary.
This Outlet Gave Us Much More Space
If you’re looking for a little (or a lot) more outlet space, you’ve got to have this gadget! It’s a simple way to keep everything charged up, all the time especially during times when you can’t seem to not spend an exorbitant amount of time on your electronic devices.
This Chopper Gives You Some Time Back
I’m all about saving time whenever possible, and this chopper gives me precious minutes back when I’m meal prepping and cooking up a big dinner. This was a great time-saver during the pandemic when we were trying all sorts of different, interesting recipes and taking up the kitchen with all of our prep.
Breath That's So Fresh and So Clean
Not only will this mouthwash give you minty fresh breath, but it will also give you a clean a sparkly clean mouth. It’s a great way to give your mouth a good health boost which is essential because overall health starts with your oral health and if we don’t have our health, we don’t have anything!
Get Your Sweat On
Since there wasn’t much to do while we were locked down, we wound up spending a lot of time working out, and these small dumbbells from Amazon were just what we needed to elevate our cardio and to really hone in on one muscle group for a more cut appearance. And by “we,” I mean “my husband” because nothing about me is cut.
The Perfect Kid's Water Bottle
Hydration was so important during the pandemic (and it still is, duh!), and keeping your kiddos hydrated was super challenging (so says my sister, anyways). But with this water bottle, my niece was able to stay on top of her hydration which kept her healthier and happier.
The Ultimate Exercise Mat From Amazon
We really prioritized exercise for the first half of the pandemic, and then we quickly dropped it because it was too tough. This workout mat from Amazon is one of the best because it keeps your knees, hands, and back thoroughly padded so you can get your workout in without adding more pain and discomfort to your body later on.
It's Time to Level Up Your Sheets
I don’t think I’ve ever slept as much as I did during 2020. It was just so easy to nap when there was nothing else to do. But our sheet sets sucked then so I had to really level up our sheet game so I could have something that felt luxurious to slide into at night. Or at 10 am. Or at 3 pm. Anytime, really.
Pillows You'll Look Forward to Ling Down On
These pillows feel like sleeping on little clouds, but they’re also firm enough to offer you the support you need. Pillows like this aren’t easy to find, but I hunted for something that would make my pandemic snoozes just a little nicer and I managed to find these awesome options.
The Pants We All Lived In
I don’t know about you, but I never got out of my sweatpants throughout the pandemic. And, frankly, I didn’t leave them behind in 2020 because they’re so dang comfy. These Hanes sweatpants were my favorites I wore, and they’re sturdy and thick and soft and dreamy and all the things you’re looking for in a pair of sweats!
Fridge Bins Are the Best
I already mentioned that we organized our pantry, but we also organized our fridge, too. Which has been such an amazing thing for my brain. I recommend it to everyone and when I do, I always recommend these awesome storage bins that help you to keep everything right where you want it.
You Need This Portable Battery
Hear me out — it seems silly that I used this compact portable battery in 2020, but I absolutely did! A ton! When it was finally safe to go out, I used it on hiking trails and, before that, I used it at home when I couldn’t be bothered to get up and walk down the hall to my room to grab my phone charger. Don’t judge me! Those were dark times.
Light Renovations, Anyone?
I’m sure you remember seeing everyone on social media changing up their homes and spaces and really just turning their houses into works of art. Well, I didn’t do that, but I did add a fun little faux subway tile backsplash with these peel and stick tile sheets to change up my kitchen and bring in a little more light. It was hard work, but someone’s gotta do it!
These Lights Really Set the Mood
Since there was so much indoor time, I wanted to make sure it was as pleasant as possible, and part of that was changing up our lighting often. These LED rope lights were an easy way for me to adjust the house to fit just what I wanted without having to make too many changes. And they were great for the many (many) movie nights we had!
This Hatch Sound Machine Is Made for Easy Resting
My niece and nephew both have one of these in their rooms. It was so hard to keep kids on their schedules in 2020, but these white noise machines from Hatch really helped. They put them to sleep and keep them asleep and also have a timer that knows when to start gently encouraging them to wake up. It’s sort of like having an in-house nanny during nap time.
The Sweatshirt I Still Haven't Moved Out Of
Truly! I live in this thing to this day! There didn’t seem to be a reason to stop wearing it if I wasn’t ever going to be seen by people (thanks to no-camera Zoom meetings!), so why change? Even now, I still love wearing this Hanes sweatshirt any chance I get. It’s cozy and comforting and warm.
This Flower Arrangement Will Never Die
I love having fresh flowers in my house, but I didn’t really trust anyone to deliver them without smushing them up, so we didn’t have any in 2020. My very romantic husband ordered these luxury Lego flowers as a fun date night for us to assemble together so I could have “fresh” flowers throughout the whole pandemic.
Look Up Into the Night Sky
I bought this for my teenage sister during the pandemic because she absolutely hated being stuck in and around her home all the time. This night sky projector allowed her to change up her room a little bit and sort of shake off some of the worst of the cabin fever she was feeling as she was cooped up in her bedroom.
Change Up Your Surroundings
Your space doesn’t have to stay the exact same all the time, and nothing taught me that more than 2020. We changed up a few things here and there, but one of my favorite changes was adding these simple floating shelves. It gave us more storage, added some depth and dimension to our living room, and looks super stylish now.
Blackout Curtains That Aren't Ugly
I don’t know if you’ve ever spent time hunting for blackout curtains, but believe me when I tell you — attractive blackouts are pretty hard to find. Luckily, I did that hard work for you and found this awesome, super sturdy set that looks gorgeous on the outside and offers some serious blackout capability on the inside for total darkness just when you need it.
An Anytime, Anywhere Bluetooth Speaker
Portable Bluetooth speakers are amazing! And they really saved me during the pandemic. I used this speaker in my office to create a good ambiance that drowned out the noise of my husband working on this project or that craft and my animals who were all clawing at my door, zombie-like, trying to get in while I was in the middle of working.
There's Never a Bad Time for More Self-Care
I mean it! Self-care is always important, but it was especially important in 2020. This gua sha and ice roller set really got me through some of my tougher days. I always looked forward to my little moments in the morning when I could use this on my face and just sort of relax into the day ahead of me, even if there wasn’t much ahead of me.
The Best Desk Lamp
Like many, I didn’t have what I would call a “home office” until the pandemic hit. I definitely had a room we called the “office,” but it was mostly a storage space with a desk. When it was clear I would have to start working from home, we totally transformed the room and created a space I still love being in. And we added this awesome lamp that I can point to right where I need, super easily and squeak-free.
A Great Desk Organizing Shelf
Because of the great transformation we managed to pull off in the office, we had quite a bit in there that needed to be reorganized. Luckily, my husband thought ahead and grabbed me this awesome set of desk shelves that really helped me to get all of my ducks in a row and keeps all of my papers and smaller files sorted for easy access.
A Cozy Throw Blanket Because, Obviously
It might seem obvious, but just in case it isn’t — I spent a lot of time on the sofa in 2020, and I can’t properly snuggle up on my sofa without a deliciously comfy throw blanket. This throw is one of my favorites because it’s cozy, super snuggly, but also really stylish and it fits right in with my living room decor.
These Hangers Helped With Organization
We organized pretty much everything we could get our hands on, even our closets! These velvet hangers did an impeccable job of keeping our clothes right where we wanted them (you know, on the hangers?) without adding weird lines or wrinkles. 10/10 would absolutely recommend if you’re looking to make a change in your wardrobe!
String Lights to Transform Your Backyard
Like most of you, when it was finally safe to gather at a distance, we had our friends over for lots and lots of yard and garden gatherings (small, of course), but we needed to add a little more light and we wanted to add a little more ambiance. These string lights were the best find of 2020 because they transformed our outdoor space into something magical and helped us make memories that will last a lifetime.
This Spritzer Is a Life-Saver
Did anyone else fall down the Brad Mondo rabbit hole and just start trying every hairstyle under the sun? This time I know it wasn’t just me! This spritz bottle was the easiest thing to use and is an absolute must-have if you’re trying to tame fly aways or secure a really tight bun.
An Echo Dot, But Make It for Kids
My sister caved and finally got my nephew an Echo Dot for his room. He loves it! He especially loves being able to communicate from room to room when he doesn’t feel like getting up. But the best part? Amazon actually makes Echo Dots that are designed just for kids and even feature adorable artwork like this one with the cutest dragon ever.
The Best Travel Tumbler Ever
We didn’t actually go anywhere in 2020, but I went from the downstairs to the upstairs and into my office, and I preferred to do that with a cup of iced coffee in my hand. This insulated cup kept my iced coffee cold all day, throughout multiple meetings, and offers enough room that I can pour just a little heavier than normal on my favorite coffee creamer without overflowing it.
